The Reason

In April 2019, during my fourth year of barbering, I discovered I had a benign uterine tumor causing severe anemia, affecting my energy, mood, and consistency at work. Despite considering myself healthy, this explained my exhaustion. Faced with options of experimental drugs, surgery, or lifestyle changes, I chose self-healing.
I adopted a plant-based diet and switched to non-toxic household products. At the barbershop, I was shocked by the harmful ingredients in the products I used daily. They were full of toxins and came in plastic, which I needed to avoid to detoxify my body. Realizing I had overlooked this, I began creating plant-based, toxin-free alternatives in glass containers, ensuring the ingredients were simple, natural, and safe.
The Year After
Moving Forward
Over the next year, I worked on improving my health while perfecting new products like aftershave and shave gel, with feedback from customers and fellow barbers. In late 2021, I finally had surgery and fully recovered, but the lessons I learned stayed with me.
Today, I continue barbering with non-toxic products that support my well-being. My illness taught me a lot, leading to the creation of Lowkey Hi-Q, a line of plant-based hair and skincare essentials designed for both professionals and customers, with wellness in mind.
